Advisor, Philanthropic Development

We are looking for an Advisor, Philanthropic Development to fill a permanent full-time position in Hudson, near the city of Vaudreuil-Dorion.

 

Reporting to the Director, Philanthropic Development, the Advisor implements and monitors strategies for the development of philanthropy at the Residence. The incumbent, in collaboration with management, contributes to the funding of the Residence through it’s Foundation by maintaining relationships with current donors and developing a potential network of major and planned donations. The incumbent organizes fundraising events and monitors best funding practices.

The Advisor, Philanthropic Development: 

  • Develops, maintains and uses a network of contacts to raise additional funding;

  • Develops a network for major and planned donations in order to solicit it when an appropriate project comes up;

  • Conducts research to target potential donors;

  • Collates, analyzes and interprets statistical data related to target markets using ProDon;

  • Develops and applies a donation request strategy to solicit individual or corporate donors;

  • Develops and maintains trust with major donors and strategic donors through meetings and courtesy calls;

  • Applies the Donor Recognition Policy, which aims to demonstrate the Residence’s gratitude to donors by applying targeted actions based on the donations given;

  • Represents the Residence at various levels to ensure its visibility and increase its profile;

  • Organizes donor recognition activities;

  • Organizes fundraising events and oversees all logistical aspects;

  • Searches for sponsorships;

  • Recruits and manages volunteers for fundraising events;

  • Promotes the Foundation’s activities to partners;

  • Conducts strategic monitoring of palliative care foundations and residences;

  • Works with the communications department to develop social media and website publications related to philanthropic development;

  • Produces weekly, monthly and annual donation reports to provide an overall picture of the financial situation.
     

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Administration, Communications or a related field.

Required Experience


A minimum of two (2) years experience in a similar position.

  • Has a good knowledge of philanthropic development methods and strategies;

  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal communication skills to build partnerships and collaborate with these partners;

  • Demonstrates good planning and organization skills;

  • Demonstrates integrity, rigour and professionalism;

  • Demonstrates a good sense of how to prioritize issues;

  • Is innovative and change-oriented;

  • Is able to perform multiple tasks in a high-pressure environment;

  • Demonstrates autonomy, initiative and creativity;

  • Is fluent in French, both orally and in writing;

  • Good knowledge of English, both oral and in writing;

  • Good knowledge of the MS Office suite.


Skills and knowledge considered an asset

  • Knowledge of Prodon software (an asset);

  • Knowledge of the Vaudreuil-Soulanges and Suroît regions (an asset).
     

Other

  • You may be required to provide two references from people who supervised your work;

  • You must be available to participate in events outside of regular working hours.

 

Salary and benefits

  • Salary and benefits are comparable to other non-profit organizations.

Nursing Assistant

Status: Replacement, part time 7/14 – every other weekend

Shifts: evenings / available days and nights if needed

Compensation: competitive, according to the Residence’s salary policy

REQUIREMENTS

Member in good standing of OIIAQ

Palliative end-of-life care experience – an asset

OTHER:

Good interpersonal relationship skills

Ability to exercise mobilizing and positive leadership

Affinity for working within a team of both professionals and non-professionals

Ability to remain calm during complex situations with colleagues

Good organization skills

Bilingual (French and English) with excellent written and spoken communication abilities
