Gastronomic & Wild Game Supper 2018

The Vaudreuil-Soulanges Palliative Care Residence Foundation (VSPCRF) would like to thank the 300 guests who attended the 13th Edition of the Gastronomic & Wild Game Supper on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Cabane Marc Besner. Over $75,000 was raised during this fundraising event presented by Mrs. Diane Joly, President of Groupe DPJL Assurances Inc., under the co-presidency of Dr Sylvie Dufresne and Dr Andreea Iancu, both doctors are founder of the VSPCR. This amount will help the Foundation support patients and families, who need quality end-of-life care in a setting that feels just like home, all with dignity.

From left to right: Mr. Steve Dennison, VSPCRF board member, Mrs. Jocelyne Vautour, Communications and Finance Director, Mr. Paul Normand, VSPCRF board member, Mrs. Monique Sasseville, Director of Care, Dre Sylvie Dufresne, Medical Director, Mrs. Diane Joly, president of Groupe DPJL Assurances Inc, Mr. Jean-FrançoisThibert, Executive Director, Mrs. Anne Lauzon, VSPCRF Vice-President and Mr. Léo Lalonde, VSPCRF board member.

In an economic context, where budget cuts are more and more frequent, the support of the community and businesses is essential to the continuity of services provided by the Vaudreuil-Soulanges Palliative Care Residence. Let’s remind everyone of the importance of this mission and make a difference by ensuring our support, explained the presenter of the event, Mrs Diane Joly (Groupe DPJL) with Mrs Anne Lauzon VSPCRF Vice-President.

During the evening, guests were entertained while savoring wild boar, cured salmon, and wild rabbit, wine tasting and took part in Vegas games. One of the highlights of the event is without a doubt the traditional ambassadorship, pledged their support with $1,000 donations to the Foundation for a total of $14,000.

Touching speeches were given by the care team. “What do doctors do at the VSPCR?” The question may seem surprising, yet Dr. Dufresne, Chief Medical Director at the VSPCR has unveiled aspects of their work that were not obvious to everyone, judging by their attentive listening.

Mrs. Monique Sasseville, the Director of Care read a poem on hope and stories of heartfelt moments shared with patients. Emotions were at its height when the list of names of patients who passed away at the VSPCR since its opening in 2010 were displayed on the screens, along with poignant photos that reflect the humanity of the care provided at the Residence.

Thank  you to all our parteners
