Generosity invaded the Forestiers trails

Generosity and fun came together last Sunday, May 28, at Parc Nature les Forestiers-de-Saint-Lazare for the Vaudreuil-Soulanges Palliative Care Residence annual walk. Because every step counts, and every walker has a direct impact on the success of the event, 300 walkers, alone, in teams or as a family, helped reach the target of $69,240 (net) for the 10th edition of the fundraising event.  Some participants walked in memory of a loved one who had stayed at the Residence, others simply took these steps to support the cause. Solidarity and benevolence, as well as enthusiasm, were in the air, enhanced tenfold by generous sunshine!

Beyond physical activity and fundraising, the day's objective was to share good times, honor a loved one and forge new bonds. To this end, the event featured entertainment for children of all ages provided by day camp animators from the city of Vaudreuil-Dorion, a warm-up session offered by Cardio Plein-Air, a draw, a contest, a photobooth courtesy of Belles et douces folies, a mini yoga session offered by Idolem Yoga and the La Bohème foodtruck offering meals and frozen treats.

We'd also like to thank the Town of Saint-Lazare for welcoming us to this forest paradise, Ekinox physiothérapie et bien-être for first responder services, the Club Optimiste de Rigaud for cooking the hot dogs, as well as Métro Fordham for the bread and Pro-Force for the sausages.

In memory of...

One of the highlights of the morning was undoubtedly the meditation period, during which local artist and master of ceremonies Karine Mccarragher offered three magnificent and sensitive musical performances. For the occasion, participants were able to take advantage of this time to pause and let their emotions flow along with the bubbles.
