During a press conference held on March 21, the Vaudreuil-Soulanges Palliative Care Residence Foundation launched the fifth edition of its annual Walk, to be held at Parc de la Maison Valois on Sunday May 1st, 2016.

The region walks for palliative care

The Foundation invites everyone to join in the cause under the theme of health and well-being. Numerous local organizations and companies will offer a dynamic and varied program for all ages. Make-up sessions for children will be offered by Production Mackeo; creative seminars, obstacle runs and challenges will be presented by Centre Multisports and Cardio Plein Air; and Arbonne will demonstrate its health and beauty products. Those are only a few examples of the many kiosks and activities planned at the Park throughout the day.

“The VSPCR Foundation must raise $1.4 million every year to offer free palliative care to the population of Vaudreuil-Soulanges and surrounding areas. I am happy to confirm that several mayors are forming their city’s respective teams to help our cause. I wish to thank them sincerely, in the name of the Foundation, for having accepted to join us as Honorary Chairmen and Chairwomen,” said Foundation Chairman Jean-Marie Bourassa.

“The Residence is proud of the support it gets from key partners for the Walk. Since 2012, Bourassa Boyer is the official presenter of this springtime event which unites the whole region. For this fifth edition, the Jean Coutu Pharmacy, on avenue Saint-Charles in Vaudreuil-Dorion, will also act as a collaborator. Together they help us continue offering quality palliative care to people in the area,” says Julie-Anne Lambert, Executive Director of the Residence.

The Walk is also a unique opportunity to meet the Residence’s health care team which works tirelessly to offer quality palliative care and a warm support to the patients. The team will be on site to welcome participants and encourage them at the starting gate; it will also participate in the Walk.
