The Vaudreuil-Soulanges Palliative Care Center provides palliative care to terminally ill people of all ages in order to promote a dignified and serene end of life, completely free of charge. Each of the 12 individual rooms enjoys a view of the gardens and can accommodate more than 200 beneficiaries per year. Since its opening, more than 2,100 patients have experienced the end of their life there. The care provided seeks to relieve their suffering, without hastening or delaying death, in order to help them maintain the best possible quality of life. Health professionals, support staff and a team of volunteers have the mission of offering them, as well as their loved ones, the support they need.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Develop and support community events organized by the public and the philanthropy team;

  • Establish a relationship of trust with community event organizers and act as their point of reference in case of questions;

  • Ensure the sustainability of these annual events by following up with the organizers;

  • Monitor activities in the region to ensure the Residence presence in the community;

  • Represent the Residence at community events and activities;

  • Support the management of volunteers assigned to events;

  • Support, in collaboration with the communications advisor, the follow-up of communications related to activities;

  • Seek out potential new funding avenues at the community level, in order to diversify the Foundation's sources of revenue;

  • Develop, maintain and use a network of contacts to raise additional funding;

  • Establish a relationship of trust with current and potential donors;

  • Maintain and apply the donor recognition policy, which aims to demonstrate the Foundation's gratitude to donors by implementing actions based on donations received;

  • Organize donor recognition activities;

  • Represent the Foundation before various bodies to ensure its visibility and raise its profile;

  • Promote the Foundation's activities to the general public and act as an ambassador for the Foundation.

REQUIRED PROFILE AND REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Have a minimum of 2 years relevant experience in a similar position;

  • Master French, both orally and in writing;

  • Good knowledge of English, both oral and written;

  • Good knowledge of the MS Office 365 suite;

  • Have a good knowledge of winning methods and strategies for philanthropic development;

  • Own a motor vehicle for occasional trips in the region;

  • Be available occasionally for evening and weekend activities;

  • Knowledge of Prodon software (an asset);

BENEFITS: 

  • Salary $24.57 to $32.80 per hour;

  • Vacation: equivalent to 8% of accumulated working weeks after one year of service;
