A record-breaking total for the last poinsettias campaign

If you saw a beautiful poinsettia at one of your relative’s house or in a region’s shop, it is most likely one of the 2870 plants of the last Vaudreuil-Soulanges Palliative Care Residence’s annual poinsettias campaign. This big red generosity wave translated into a record-breaking total. It is 107 170$ that was collected this year!

The two precious volunteers and instigators of the last 12 campaigns, Gilles Hébert and Marie Caron can be proud of this result. What a great finale for them that are retiring this year! About that, the Residence will honnor them at the next Happening gala that will take place on January 28th at Château Vaudreuil.

M. Hébert wants to mention that this success would be impossible without the colossal work of 26 volunteers that supported them once again this year. “I don’t know what praising comment to say to qualify their performances!”, he said while smiling, adding that the preparation week for the deliveries required about 650 hours of volunteering.

Since its beginning in 2010, this campaign will have produced more than 942 934$ in total and will be back with a 13th edition.

The Residence, as well as M. Hébert and Ms. Caron, want to warmly thank the three principal partners of the campaign: La Ville de Vaudreuil-Dorion, Desjardins Vaudreuil-Soulanges and Centre Jardin Vaudreuil-Sur-le-Lac. A thank you particularly to the necessary collaborators: Location de camion Penske, FCA Canada, the numerous region’s restaurants that offered delicious meals for our volunteers: restaurant L’Étoile de Rigaud, Christine Castonguay, IGA Viau, Rôtisserie St-Hubert (Françoise Dubuc) and the Palliative Care Residence (Micheal Lang, the executive chef).
