Raised for the seventh edition of the annual Poinsettia Campaign

The Vaudreuil-Soulanges Palliative Care Residence Foundation and the Town of Vaudreuil-Dorion are proud to announce the amount raised for the seventh edition of the annual poinsettia campaign: $64, 867.32. More than 2,550 poinsettias have been sold in the region, brightening homes during the Holidays season! Since its inception in 2010, the campaign has raised more than $428,000.

The Town of Vaudreuil-Dorion, a long-time collaborator, thanked the generous donors. Mayor Guy Pilon said: “By donating, you make a concrete gesture in support of this Residence which is so important to us. The generosity of all donors and the dedication of an impressive team of volunteers allow, among other things, privileged access to quality end-of-life care for free.”

This result is based on the work of 30 plus volunteers, organized by Gilles Hébert and Marie Caron, campaign leaders. They have coordinated the campaign for 7 years, with the collaboration of the Centre Jardin Vaudreuil-sur-le-Lac, whose owners, Florence Daneau et Patrick Van den Abeele, share a wealth of expertise. The Foundation also wishes to thank the Chartwells Residences and Alliance Auto Groupe, friends of the campaign and companies that offered meals to our volunteers: Mrs Louise and Christine Castonguay, Buffet La Fringale, St-Hubert Vaudreuil, IGA Viau, Main Kitchen, and the culinary school of the EHDAA program at École secondaire de la Cité-des-Jeunes. Other businesses also contributed to maximize the volunteers’ efforts: Fiat Chrysler Automobile et Penske who lend us trucks.

Gilles Hébert and Marie Caron, his partner, are the volunteers in charge of this campaign since its inception. They are extremely proud of their team’s hard work. “The poinsettias campaign is a rallying project. More than thirty volunteers lend a hand to transform these simple poinsettias into true marvels for the donors. Furthermore, the Centre jardin Vaudreuil-sur-le-Lac generously provides its horticultural expertise and lends us its greenhouse for the delivery week,” adds Gilles Hébert.

Thank you for your support!
