The Residence

History

In March of 2005 the Vaudreuil-Soulanges Health Care Foundation, now known as the Palliative Care Residence Foundation, was created and the project officially launched. Five and a half years later on September 10, 2010, Mrs. Sylvie C. Crevier, then President of the Board of Directors proceeded with the official inauguration of the Vaudreuil-Soulanges Palliative Care Residence.

Vision

To provide a home where serenity, warmth, comfort and relief are offered, with an approach to excellence in palliative care, thanks to a passionate and professional team of employees, volunteers and partners, all free of charge.

Our Mission

The mission of the Vaudreuil-Soulanges Palliative Care Residence (VSPCR) is to offer specialized palliative care with respect and dignity to individuals of all ages (children, teenagers, adults) who have a terminal-phase illness.

End-of-life care offered

The VSPCR offers end-of-life care, more precisely, we offer palliative care to patients who are referred to us, as stated in article 72 of the Act Respecting End-of-Life Care. Palliative care encompasses all the treatment and care given to patients suffering from a terminal disease by an interdisciplinary team comprised of health care professionals, support staff and certain volunteers. Without delaying or hastening death, palliative care aims at giving patients and those close to them the best possible quality of life and providing them with the support they need. Palliative care includes continuous palliative sedation but excludes medical aid in dying. The VSPCR is committed to providing the necessary information to communicate advance medical directives.
