The Vaudreuil-Soulanges Palliative Care Center's mission is to provide palliative care to terminally ill people of all ages in order to promote an end of life with dignity and serenity. Located in a peaceful environment, the House has twelve perfectly equipped individual rooms. Schedule Type
Part-time, permanent position (7/14);
Evening, every other weekend, with availability day and evening if organizational needs;
25 hours/week

JOB DESCRIPTION :
Properly use the appropriate resources, as prescribed by professional practice, in compliance with the policies and procedures of the House;
Assess the patient's condition and establish a therapeutic care plan based on their health history and symptoms;
Use therapeutic communication processes and show great empathy so that the patient and his family feel reassured and confident upon their arrival, offer psychological support and provide information that promotes informed decision-making;
Rigorously and safely administer medications/treatments, as prescribed by established protocols.

REQUIRED PROFILE AND REQUIREMENTS:
Be a member in good standing of the Order of Nurses of Quebec;
Palliative care nursing certification from the Canadian Nurses Association (CNA) an asset.
Experience with palliative care clients is an asset;
Compassion and empathy towards sick people and their loved ones, but also towards colleagues;
Basic knowledge of and respect for cultural/spiritual values, needs, beliefs and desires of each patient/family;
Ability to exercise judgment appropriately and to initiate and fuel critical thinking
Strong sense of responsibility and ability to take initiatives.

PROFITS :
Salary scale: $25.80 to $47.95/hour;
Vacation: equivalent to 8% of accumulated working weeks after one year of service;
3 days of sick leave and 2 personal days;
Health insurance, life insurance, travel insurance and long-term disability insurance which applies to all permanent employees holding a position after 1 month of service (for full-time employees full). Insurance is 50% paid by the employer;
