A successful tournament thanks to countless outpourings of generosity

The 19th annual golf tournament to benefit the Vaudreuil-Soulanges Palliative Care Residence was held on September 14th, 2023 at the prestigious Whitlock Golf Club in Hudson, raising $72,703 (net). The golf tournament is one of the Residence's main fundraising activities, and helps to maintain its mission: to maintain free care and ensure that patients (and their loved ones) live out their final days with dignity and compassion in a calm and serene natural environment. 

 

For the occasion, over 160 participants, partners and sponsors enjoyed a festive day full of surprises, thanks to gourmet stations and entertainment on the holes. The day ended with a dinner where players and guests could chat and bid on the virtual auction, which raised $15,268 (net).

 

This year was a little special. Indeed, before the traditional call to Ambassadors, Honorary President Jean St-Pierre made a heartfelt appeal to the audience: "The Residence is facing a special situation: the roof must be replaced this autumn, following premature wear and tear. Several partners are already working to limit the financial impact. However, $90,000 is needed to cover the cost of the work. I'm calling on you today to reach out to your networks and acquaintances and make you aware of this reality''. Then the call to ambassadors inspired 26 kind-hearted people to become Ambassadors by generously donating $1,000 to the Residence. 26,000 times thank you!

 

The Residence would like to warmly thank Mr. Jean St-Pierre for assuming this honorary mandate with such generosity since the very first edition of the tournament.
